Three Falcons selected for to represent Great Britain in 2022

Three players from the Chichester Falcons' junior softball programme have been selected to represent Great Britain in three age groups for the 2022 season.

Isla Dodson-Richi and Amy Morris will both travel to Enschede in The Netherlands, to compete in the U15 European Championships in July. Isla and Amy will help Great Britain take on nine other countries, including Germany, France and Italy, in what looks to be a highly competitive tournament.

Both players have been working hard all year in both the BaseballSoftballUK Academy programme and the Great Britain Fastpitch League, in which they play in a team together.

Oliver Howley has already been turning heads for both the U23 and Mens team, as Great Britain took on Sweden for a weekend of games in late May. Oliver was instrumental as pitcher in the Saturday game, keeping his nerve to see out a close victory which went right to the final inning.

Oliver has been involved with Great Britain softball for a number of years, having worked his way up through the ranks from the U18s age group.

Additionally, Tess Gibbons from the Falcons Little League Baseball programme has been marked as a reserve player for the Great Britain U13 Cubs in their trip to Collecchio, Italy to play in the U13 European Championships.

GB triallists are required to submit video evidence of testing protocols showing athletic, defensive and offensive skills, plus game footage, for the selection panels to pore over.

The Falcons coaching staff look forward to meeting the next crop of budding ballplayers when their Little League Baseball programme gets under way on July 9th. Open to boys & girls aged 8-12, parents can enrol their kids on the Falcons website at www.chichesterfalcons.com.
